Evanston police are looking for the driver of an SUV that struck and seriously injured a woman in the northern suburbs earlier this month.
On February 8, police discovered a 53-year-old woman on the ground near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Dempster Street. She was taken to Evanston Hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit due to her injuries.
The woman, who was from Evanston, was unable to explain what had happened to paramedics.
The victim’s daughter showed Evanston police surveillance footage of the incident ten days later. According to the video, she was crossing Chicago Avenue when she was hit by a light-colored SUV turning through the intersection.
Police have not identified the driver or the SUV, but it appears to be a Nissan Rogue.
Anyone who has surveillance footage of the crash is asked to call the Evanston Police Traffic Bureau at (847) 866-5079 or text a tip to 274637, beginning your message with EPDTIP.
