All-Black women crew operates American Airlines flight from Dallas in honor of trailblazer Bessie Coleman

An all-Black female group worked an American Airlines departure from Dallas to Phoenix to pay tribute to Bessie Coleman, the principal Black lady to procure a pilot’s permit in 1921.
The aircraft facilitated the Bessie Coleman Aviation All-Stars visit this week to commend the 100th commemoration of Coleman playing out the primary public trip by an African American lady in 1922.
“She valiantly separated hindrances inside the universe of flight and cleared the way for some to follow,” American Airlines said in a proclamation.
