The WNBA player Britney Griner, who has been imprisoned in a Russian prison for some time after authorities claimed to have found a small amount of hashish oil in her luggage at an airport close to Moscow, has received support from a large portion of the world over the past seven months.
Tekashi 6ix9ine traveled to Russia after rejecting the US State Department’s offer. In a recent video, the New York native can be seen making troubling remarks about the basketball star.
Standing in a sparsely populated city square, the rapper began by greeting and shouting to his friends, “You know we out here,” smirking in an all-black ensemble. He went on to say, “Sh*t is insane.” 6ix9ine leaned in even closer to yell, “Fck Brittney Griner,” and as he got closer to the cameraman, he raised his large sunglasses to show his entire face.
Britney is caught in the middle of a geopolitical power struggle between the US and Russia, where the Russian government is using her to get the US government to let dangerous Russian criminals out of US jails.
And while celebrities like Dennis Rodman offered to travel abroad to advocate for Griner’s freedom, the former Chicago Bulls player was ultimately dissuaded from doing so and asked to leave the legal professionals, who have worked tirelessly to ensure Griner’s return to her family.
