Mamie Till-Mobley Scholarship is established at Loyola University.

Emmett Till’s mother is being honored by Loyola University with a scholarship in her name.

The Mamie Till-Mobley Scholarship, sponsored by Loyola’s Black Alumni Board, will be awarded to a Chicag-area high school graduate who is deeply involved in the Black community.

Mamie Till earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Loyola in 1971.

On Friday, Loyola will hold a ceremony to honor her legacy of serving Chicago’s youth and seeking justice for Black children.

Mamie Till-Mobley Day in Chicago was recently declared by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
