Bob Evans Recalls Italian Sausage Due to Contamination Concerns

According to a recall notice issued by the United States Department of Agriculture, Bob Evans is recalling approximately 7,560 pounds of Italian pork sausage products because they may contain pieces of thin blue rubber. This information comes from a recall notice issued by the USDA.

According to the warning issued by the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the raw sausage products at issue were manufactured on September 28 and then distributed to retail locations across the country. The products that are being recalled have the number “EST.6785” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection, the date “USE/FRZ BY” of 11/26/22, and the lot code “XEN3663466.”

On Friday, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a recall alert after the company notified the agency that it had received consumer complaints reporting that the product contained thin pieces of blue rubber. According to the agency, there have been no confirmed reports of any adverse reactions that were caused by consumption.

Anyone who is in possession of the product in question should not consume it and should instead either dispose of it in the trash or take it back to the store where it was purchased.
