A man from Joliet was taken into custody after it was alleged that he killed his dog by dragging her across the floor of his apartment.
Officers responded to a call at a residence in the 100 block of Clement Street at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Monday and found Sebastian Trujillo, age 22, inside. He was taken into custody.
The police stated that it appeared as though Trujillo was dragging his husky named “Jillo” across his floor in order to place her in her cage. The dog’s body was found dead in the bathroom, leading the police to believe that it was the cause of the dog’s death.
Animal control came and removed one of the huskies from the apartment along with the other one.
Trujillo was charged with the more serious crime of aggravated animal cruelty.
