An individual who is suspected of purchasing a gun through a straw transaction has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a Bradley police sergeant.
According to the prosecution, Jaron Shannon, age 23, purchased one of the firearms that was used in the shooting that took place in December of last year.
During the shooting, Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic was found dead, and Officer Tyler Bailey was found with life-threatening injuries.
As of right now, Shannon is the eighth person to be charged in connection with this case.
