Students at Homewood-Flossmoor High School are planning a walkout on Thursday to support a student who was allegedly sexually assaulted by another student earlier this week.
Attorney Stephanie White, as well as the mother of the allegedly assaulted 17-year-old student, held a press conference on Wednesday to criticize school administrators for their inaction in the incident.
According to White, sexual violence is an ongoing issue at the school. District officials declined to comment, but stated that they value student input and are working with police to ensure a safe walkout.
The walkout is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. Homewood-Flossmoor High School on Thursday.
