An astute 10-year-old boy foils an abduction attempt.

A terrifying video shows a 10-year-old Pennsylvania boy eluding a woman who was attempting to entice him away by telling a store clerk to pretend she was his mother.

According to CBS News, Sammy Green was walking home from school in Pottstown on Friday when the woman began following him on High Street.

“I started walking with him and asking where his family was, where his father was,” the boy’s father, Sam Green, told WPVI.

“She said she probably knew me and was going to Wawa and that he was supposed to go with her and get whatever he wanted,” he explained, referring to a convenience store.

Sammy described how the woman harassed him with strange questions and made him feel uncomfortable.

“She said, ‘I’m going to Wawa.'” Are you planning on going? What do you get from Wawa? “Where is your family?” the boy asked CBS News.

Before a security camera inside Dani Bee Funky, a store he knows, captured them walking by, the stranger also offered to buy the fourth-grader food.

Sammy is seen entering the store, approaching the cashier, Hannah Daniels, 17, and whispering in her ear while the woman stands outside.

“He was like, ‘Pretend you’re my mom,'” Hannah explained to CBS News. “And all I said was, ‘All right, go to the back.'” He refused to leave my side.”

In the video, Hannah walks to the door and locks it as Sammy stands behind her. The woman then walks away.

“I was still shaking when I was in here,” Sammy said after the terrifying episode, which he ended by remembering what his father had taught him about strangers.

“I cried every time I saw that video when we were watching it,” Green told WPVI.

He stated that the incident should serve as a lesson to all parents.

Green told CBS News, “Think of every scenario and make sure that children know and practice it.” “Just like a fire drill, practice your situations and scenarios.”

Police later located the woman and informed her that she was receiving treatment for mental health issues.

Dani Small, the store’s owner, praised Sammy and Hannah for their astute actions.

“I am extremely proud of her. Hannah is a 17-year-old girl. “She followed all of the rules,” Small told WPVI.
