The fatal stabbing of two young boys in a New York City family shelter is still being investigated by police.
On Saturday evening, the incident occurred in the Bronx. The youngsters had multiple stab wounds to the neck and torso when they were discovered.
When police arrived at the scene at 7:30 p.m., they discovered the mother acting erratically inside the flat on the third level. According to sources, the mother then attempted to burn down the apartment with the stove before turning on the water.
The mother was subsequently arrested by police. She was brought to the hospital for further examination.
The walls in the building, according to neighbors who live down the hall, are thin. They claimed to have heard the two little boys’ parents bickering and shouting earlier in the night. They also heard the boys’ father screaming for rescue.
“He was laughing uncontrollably. ‘Help me,’ he screamed. I came in and opened my door, and there he was, coming down the corridor with the two boys in his arms. They were no longer alive. They were no longer alive. There was blood on them everywhere “Shannon Holyfield, a neighbor, stated.
A second 911 call reported two unconscious toddlers at the same place less than an hour after the boys’ mother was brought to the hospital. Officers returned to the apartment and discovered the 3-year-old and 11-month-old children with stab wounds.
Officers and another family member attempted but failed to resuscitate the boys. The youngsters were transported to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in severe condition, where they perished.
“It is something they will have to live with and ponder about for the rest of their lives. We have cops with extensive experience. They are, in my opinion, the best. They can handle and cope with any crisis “According to NYPD Deputy Chief Louis De Ceglie.
