A Metra Union Pacific Northwest train struck a pedestrian in northwest suburban Arlington Heights on Wednesday morning.
The inbound and outbound UP-NW train activity near Arlington Heights has been paused, according to Metra.
There will be significant delays.
Arlington Heights police advised residents to avoid a railroad crossing at Ridge and Northwest Highway through Twitter. Ridge is closed at the racks, but Northwest Highway is not.
