The Chicago Police Department will pay you for unwanted firearms with no questions asked.

The Chicago Police Department will hold a “no-questions-asked” Gun Turn In event in Edgewater on Saturday.

Officers will be at Saint Ita Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect unwanted or unused firearms. Residents who are interested will receive a $100 prepaid gift card for each gun and a $10 gift card for BB-guns, air-guns, and replica guns.

As long as you’re turning in your guns, no one will ask you where or how you got them. Prepaid Visa cards can be used to pay for gas, groceries, and bills at most stores.

There is no limit to the number of guns that can be turned in; all will be accepted.

Following the event, the guns will be destroyed. If you are unable to attend the event, guns can be turned in at any police station. To receive the gift card, however, the guns must be returned Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Saint Ita Church, located at 5500 N. Broadway St.

Chicago police officers can also safely dispose of any ammunition or gun parts.
