SUNDAY
A 9-year-old boy was fatally shot inside a home on the South Side of Chicago on Sunday. According to police, the shooting occurred in the 9400 block of S Wallace Street. Unknown condition, the child was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital. Detectives from District 2 are investigating.
A man was fatally shot on the West Side sidewalk of Austin on Sunday afternoon. The 52-year-old was outside in the 5000 block of West Superior Avenue just before 4:20 p.m. when a vehicle drove up and an occupant fired shots, according to Chicago police. Police say the victim was shot in the head and chest. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he passed away. There were no arrests reported. It was the fourth homicide in Chicago in 2023.

The boy was in the home with several other children when a gun was discharged and he was shot, according to Chicago police. He was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was listed as fair. Police reported that a handgun was recovered near the garage of the residence where the shooting occurred, but no arrests were made. A suspect is currently being questioned. There were no other injuries reported.
A man was shot during an armed robbery early Saturday morning in the North Side neighborhood of West Rogers Park. Four suspects entered a business in the 2700 block of West Touhy at 5:15 a.m. and approached the cash register, according to Chicago police. According to police, one of the suspects opened fire, striking the victim in the right leg. Officials reported that he was transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where his condition was stabilized. According to police, the suspects stole cash from the register and fled. FRIDAY
Friday night, two men were shot and killed inside an Avalon Park residence. The men were inside a home in the 8600 block of South Constance Avenue at 10:35 p.m. when shots were fired, according to Chicago police. Witnesses in the residence reported hearing a loud noise following my gunshots, according to police. The men, ages 23 and 30, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to police. No arrests were made.
