Noah Schnapp, the star of the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things,” has publicly declared his sexual orientation.
Schnapp, 18, addressed his sexuality on TikTok on Thursday by posting a video of himself with the caption: “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was “we know.”
Schnapp has been a breakout star in the Netflix series since 2016, playing Will Byers.
“I guess I’m more similar to will than I thought,” the video caption says.
After years of speculation, Schnapp confirmed in a July 2022 interview with Variety that his character was also gay.
“I mean, it’s pretty clear that Will has feelings for Mike this season” (Wheeler). “They’ve been doing it on purpose for the past few seasons,” Schnapp said. “Even in Season 1, they hinted at it and gradually, gradually grew that storyline.”
Schnapp and the rest of the “Stranger Things” cast are getting ready for life after the Netflix show. The hit show’s fifth season will be its final, but it’s unclear when it will air or if production on the final season has begun.
