According to police, a 16-year-old boy was found shot to death in the street in Des Plaines on Sunday night.
Officers were called to the 1300-block of Perry Street around 9:32 p.m. for a report of shots fired.
Officers arrived and discovered the boy in the street. The Des Plaines Fire Department tried to save the 16-year-life, old’s but he died.
Several residents have been shaken by the shooting.
“I didn’t hear anything but I came out and I saw the tape and I had to figure out what was going on,” neighbor Jared Kilbourne said. “I’m very scared now. I will head inside now and hopefully hear more about it tomorrow.”
According to police, this appears to be an isolated incident with no threat to the general public. However, they have not revealed what may have prompted this lethal shooting.
According to police, this is still under investigation and more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
