Police are investigating after a 3-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man were both injured when the man’s gun discharged, striking both of them.
The shooting occurred around 12 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of South Stewart in the Englewood neighborhood, according to police.
The man was holding a handgun when it discharged, according to police. A 3-year-old was shot in the right foot and he was shot in the lower left leg.
The toddler was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, while the man was taken to Thorek Memorial Hospital in fair condition.
Area One detectives are still investigating.
