Weekend gun violence in Chicago includes the death of a 17-year-old boy and the injury of 26 others.

This weekend in Chicago, at least seven people have been killed and 26 others wounded by gunfire.

Two teenagers were shot, one fatally, while attempting to purchase shoes from a social media seller in West Pullman on the Far South Side on Sunday afternoon. The teens, aged 17 and 18, were in a parked car in the 11900 block of South State Street around 2:05 p.m. when they met with the seller, according to Chicago police. According to authorities, after the seller took their money, he opened fire and struck both teens. According to police, the 17-year-old boy was struck in the chest and pronounced dead. He was hit in the elbow and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in good condition.

Three people were killed in separate shootings in Gresham and Humboldt Park on the South and West Sides just hours later. A 35-year-old man was shot in the face in the 700 block of South Spaulding Avenue around 7:05 p.m., according to police. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, but he died as a result of his injuries, according to police.

Another person, whose age was unknown, was struck in the body by gunfire about 15 minutes later in the 7600 block of South May Street, police said. Officials said he was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Officers discovered an 18-year-old man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the body in the 1100 block of West 77th Street around the same time, according to police. He was taken to the University of Chicago, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

According to police, a man, 35, was fatally shot while arguing with another person at a gathering in East Garfield Park. Around 10:35 p.m. Friday, he was shot in the chest inside a home in the 300 block of North Hamlin Avenue. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and died there. The shooter fled the scene, and no arrests were made.

A man was shot and killed inside a home in West Englewood on Chicago’s South Side on Saturday evening. According to police, the man, 25, was shot in the abdomen around 5:55 p.m. while inside a home in the 1200 block of West 73rd Street. He was declared dead at the scene. There was no additional information available, and no one was in custody.

A man was shot to death while walking in Belmont Cragin on the Northwest Side earlier Saturday. The man, 28, was on a sidewalk in the 5300 block of West Altgeld Street shortly after 3 a.m. when someone in a black sedan opened fire, according to police. The man was shot in the chest and died at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Two people were shot and critically injured during an armed robbery in Princeton Park on Chicago’s South Side on Sunday night. The men, 22 and 23, were near a parking lot in the 8400 block of South Holland around 6:55 p.m. when a dark-colored vehicle approached and two occupants exited before demanding the pair’s property at gunpoint, according to police. According to officials, the men complied and were shot. According to police, the younger man was struck in the chest and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. The elderly man was struck in the armpit and was airlifted to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition.

A 13-year-old boy was shot and injured in Pocket Town on the South Side on Sunday night. The teen was near a sidewalk in the 1100 block of East 67th Street around 8 p.m. when a dark-colored vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, striking him in the hip, according to police. According to police, he was taken to Comer’s Children’s Hospital and was in fair condition.

A 15-year-old boy was shot early Saturday in Fernwood on Chicago’s South Side. The boy was walking through an alley in the 10300 block of South Union Avenue around 2 a.m. when someone in a car began shooting, according to police. The boy was driven to Roseland Hospital by a bystander and was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound to the left hand.

A 17-year-old boy was shot inside a home in North Lawndale on the West Side on Friday night. The teen was shot in the left arm inside a home in the 3300 block of West Douglas Boulevard around 7:40 p.m., according to police. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital and was listed in good condition.

Since 5 p.m. Friday, at least 20 more people have been shot in Chicago.
