Zion police are looking into shots fired outside a high school basketball game.

After a reported shooting outside a Zion high school during a basketball game Tuesday night, classes resumed as usual this morning.

Police were called to Zion-Benton Township High School after a shooting was reported in the parking lot outside the school during the Zion vs. Waukegan basketball game.

The offenders fled the scene after damaging two cars.

The incident is being investigated by detectives.

District 126 officials say classes will resume as usual on Wednesday and that they are cooperating with authorities while the incident is investigated.

The school will have an increased police presence, as well as emotional support services for students and staff. As a precaution, the school will start the day in code yellow.

At this time, no additional information is available.
