Suspect in downtown Chicago bank robbery may have robbed River North Chase the week before: FBI

FBI agents believe the man responsible for a high-profile bank robbery in the Loop last week also robbed a River North bank earlier this month.

Surveillance footage from the March 3 afternoon robbery of the Chase Bank at Clark and Kinzie streets has been released by investigators.

The suspect was dressed in a black hoodie, a black surgical mask, blue surgical gloves, black pants, brown shoes, and a backpack.

Nearly a week later, on March 9, the man is suspected of robbing the Fifth Third Bank on Wacker Drive and Madison Street.

A cellphone video showed the man scooping money into a bag before fleeing. The incident resulted in the injury of a security guard.

According to the FBI, he was dressed in a black jacket with a hood, a red hat, a white face mask, black winter gloves, blue jeans, and black and white shoes.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
