Get ready Orland Park, you are about to be smashed.
Don’t worry, it won’t hurt. In fact, you will probably enjoy it.
Denver-based Smashburger will open its newest south suburban location on Thursday at 15061 S. LaGrange Road in Orland Park near the new Raising Cane’s, Chipotle and Panera restaurants on the site of the former Toys R Us store.
It will be the second Southland location for the fast-casual gourmet hamburger chain and its fifth Chicago-area location. It opened a location at 5139 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn in 2011.
“We are thrilled to continue our Chicago-area expansion with our newest restaurant in Orland Park,” said Carl Bachmann, President of Smashburger. “Orland Park is one of the most desirable Chicago suburbs with a variety of restaurants, shopping centers and entertainment which makes it an ideal community for Smashburger. Now even more people can enjoy our mouthwatering burgers and delicious breakfast any day of the week.”
To commemorate the grand opening and give back to the local community, Smashburger will host a community giveback event with The Bridge Teen Center, an innovative nonprofit community center that provides free holistically designed programs and events for teens from 128 neighboring communities.
From Friday, December 17, through Sunday, December 19, $1 from every Double Smash Burger sold will benefit The Bridge Teen Center, 15555 71st Court in Orland Park.
The restaurant, as an inducement for new customers, will offer a Single Classic Smash Burger with Fries for only $5 all day on Saturday, December 18. On Sunday, December 19, guests can enjoy a Single Bacon Smash Burger for only $5 all day.
For those unfamiliar with the concept, it’s all about the smash. The chain uses 100% fresh (never frozen) Certified Angus Beef for its burgers, which are smashed on a hot seasoned grill in an open kitchen.
New to the menu is an authentic Mexican-inspired burger, the Chorizo Cheeseburger, by award-winning chef, restauranteur, and winner of Bravo TV’s Top Chef Masters Chef Rick Bayless.
Besides burgers, the menu also features grilled and crispy chicken sandwiches, turkey and black bean burgers, and fresh salads, with signature sides like Crispy Brussels Sprouts and SmashFries.
For a sweet treat, customers can enjoy hand-spun Häagen-Dazs milkshakes. Eye-openers include the Breakfast Smash Burger, topped with an egg, bacon and aged cheddar on toasted brioche.
Smashburger is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Guests can order Smashburger for take-out (in-store and curbside pickup) or free delivery through December 24 on Smashburger.com, mobile app or through DoorDash, Postmates, Uber Eats and GrubHub.

The chain also plans additional Smashburger locations coming soon to Naperville and Oak Brook.
